The Ship at Midnight kit is a free, non-commercial passion project run by Shreyas Sawant, an independent developer. This page covers the website at shipatmidnight.dev/kit and the kit itself (a Claude Code plugin: skills, agents and markdown). Contact: shreyassaw@gmail.com.
The short version
- The website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other websites.
- The kit is files that run inside Claude Code on your computer. It has no telemetry and does not send what you do to us.
- We don't sell or share personal information, and we don't have accounts, forms or mailing lists.
The website
The site is static and hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States). To deliver and protect the site, Vercel processes standard request data for every visit: IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time. Vercel keeps this data for a short period under its own privacy policy. We do not use it to identify or profile visitors.
| Category | What | Why | Kept |
|---|---|---|---|
| Server logs | IP address, user agent, page, time | Delivering and securing the site (legitimate interest) | Short-term, by Vercel |
| Cookies and local storage | None | – | – |
| Analytics, pixels, session replay | None | – | – |
Links to other sites (for example GitHub) are governed by those sites' own policies once you follow them.
The kit
The kit runs inside Claude Code, under your own Anthropic account and Anthropic's terms and privacy policy; what you type and what the model reads goes to Anthropic as it would in any Claude Code session. The kit itself makes no network requests of its own and sends nothing to us. Some steps of a /vision run contact other services when they run, and those services see your IP address:
- Installing the plugin, which fetches the repository from GitHub.
- The name check, which queries npm, PyPI and GitHub (through
gh, if installed) for the product name you gave, and may run a web search if your session has a search tool. audit.sh, which fetches the NVIDIA SkillSpector and SkillEvaluator scanners from GitHub at pinned tags on first run.- GSD, if you install it, is a separate project with its own behaviour; the kit asks you to leave its update-check hook off.
Everything a run writes (.planning/ files, commits, a logo, an intro image, a README, a page draft) stays in your repository on your computer. The kit never pushes to a public remote, publishes a package, deploys, or creates a public repository.
International transfers
Vercel may process website request data in the United States and other countries, under its standard contractual protections (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable).
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law), you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your personal information. We hold no personal information about visitors ourselves; for website request logs we will help you contact Vercel. Write to shreyassaw@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days (45 days under California law). You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
California
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Children
The kit is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
